Singer Kim Jong-kook explained the reason why his mother was absent from the show 'My Ugly Duckling', where she was a regular cast member.
On the 11th, a video titled “The Day the Tiger Gets Married...(Feat. Running Man, Year of the Dragon Club, Jonathan, Kang Hoon, Joo Woo-jae, Seo Jang-hoon, Showry, etc.)” was posted on the YouTube channel 'Jim Jong-kook'.
In the video, Kim Jong-kook expressed his gratitude, saying, “So many people have congratulated me on my marriage, and I really appreciate it,” and added, “I was so tight on preparations that I couldn’t prepare this week’s content, so I made a video to announce my marriage news (to those around me).”
The video was originally supposed to be played at the ceremony, but it was released on YouTube because it couldn't be played due to decorations.
In the video, Kim Jong-kook surprised his acquaintances with the marriage announcement, saying, “Isn’t my mother not appearing on 'My Ugly Duckling' (recently)?” It turns out she had been quietly staying out of the spotlight for her son's secret marriage.
Kim Jong-kook revealed, “I hope my future wife can have a quiet (wedding), and I also dislike being in the spotlight,” explaining the reasons for the tight security surrounding the marriage.
When asked if it was a rushed marriage, he replied, “We decided to get married not long ago. It happened quickly,” and added, “It’s not a rushed marriage. At my age, a rushed marriage is a blessing.”
There was also a scene where he informed 'My Ugly Duckling' member Seo Jang-hoon about the news. Seo Jang-hoon said, “I knew you would do that,” and mentioned, “Didn’t your mother suddenly stop appearing? I saw you buying a house and thought, ‘Something is strange here.’”
The reactions from 'Running Man' members followed. Yoo Jae-suk reacted by saying, “Don’t lie,” and Haha even shed tears.
