Actor Jung Woo-sung will attend his first official event after marriage.
The Busan Film Awards announced the list of winners of the Yoo Hyun-mok Film Arts Award and participants in the handprinting event on the 11th, and Jung Woo-sung will attend the handprinting event held on the 18th at the Signiel Busan Grand Ballroom.
The Busan Film Awards, which started in 1958, is the first film award in Korea that led the golden age of Korean cinema in the 1960s, and has continued for 18 years since its revival in 2008. The awards ceremony will include a pre-ceremony handprinting, a red carpet event, and the awarding of 16 categories, including the Star of the Year Award and the Yoo Hyun-mok Film Arts Award.
Before the awards ceremony, the winner of the Yoo Hyun-mok Film Arts Award was announced first.
The special award, Yoo Hyun-mok Film Arts Award, which is given to challenging and progressive filmmakers in the spirit of the late director Yoo Hyun-mok, who won the Busan Film Awards five times, has been awarded to actor Jang Dong-gun.
Yang Yoon-ho, vice chairman of the Korean Film Council, stated, "The film 'Ordinary Family' aligns well with the realism and humanism pursued by director Yoo Hyun-mok, and actor Jang Dong-gun showcased a new acting transformation in 'Ordinary Family,' portraying a sincere father figure. This reflects the spirit of Yoo Hyun-mok, who continued to love and dedicate himself to film even at the age of 70 while directing the work 'Sea Anemone,' seeking new changes, and embodies the shared passion and will of these two artists."
The handprinting event, which will take place before the awards ceremony, will feature the winners of the 33rd Busan Film Awards.
Last year's winners, Jung Woo-sung (Best Actor), Kim Geum-soon (Best Actress), Lim Ji-yeon (Best Supporting Actress), Lee Joon-hyuk (Star of the Year/Male), Shin Hye-sun (Star of the Year/Female), Kim Young-sung (Best New Actor), and Jung Soo-jung (Best New Actress) are expected to grace the event.
In addition to the handprinting event, a red carpet event for filmmakers participating in the awards ceremony is also scheduled before the ceremony.
Actors Kim Nam-gil and Chun Woo-hee have been selected as the hosts. The handprinting and red carpet events will be broadcast live from 5 PM on that day.
Meanwhile, Jung Woo-sung welcomed an extramarital child with model Moon Ga-bi last November. At that time, Jung Woo-sung's agency stated, "The child revealed by Ms. Moon Ga-bi on social media is indeed Jung Woo-sung's biological child," but added, "There are no plans for marriage, and he will do his best to fulfill his duties as a father." Subsequently, Jung Woo-sung registered his marriage with a non-celebrity girlfriend last August, nine months later.
