YouTuber Daedoseogwan (real name Na Dong-hyun, 47) has suddenly passed away, and his ex-wife Yumdang (real name Lee Chae-won) has revealed the cause of death.
On the night of the 9th, Yumdang posted a lengthy message on her YouTube channel's community board, stating, “There are stories circulating about me, Daedoseogwan, and my child that are not true, and I want to clarify a few things to prevent further misunderstandings and hurt.”
She continued, “The exact cause of Daedoseogwan's death is ‘brain hemorrhage.’ He did not show up for an appointment with a friend on Friday, and when he could not be reached until the next day, concerned friends reported it to the police. When I arrived, Daedoseogwan was lying peacefully with his eyes closed, just as I had seen him for many years.”
She added, “To eliminate any suspicion, an autopsy was conducted, and it was ultimately confirmed that the cause was a brain hemorrhage. He had mentioned recently that he needed to take medication for slightly high blood pressure, but he had no significant issues during routine check-ups two years ago, so he did not undergo an MRA to detect any aneurysms.”
Regarding rumors that Daedoseogwan's cause of death was heart disease, she emphasized, “Daedoseogwan's father did not die of a myocardial infarction but of liver cirrhosis. There is absolutely no truth to the claim that Daedoseogwan or his family has a hereditary heart disease.”
Additionally, addressing misunderstandings and rumors surrounding their divorce, she stated, “There was no asset division during the divorce; we each took what we had earned. My son is not Daedoseogwan's adopted child and has no relation to inheritance. I have never received child support after the divorce.”
Yumdang has been keeping vigil at Daedoseogwan's funeral. She explained, “It was a request from his younger sister,” and added, “It hurts my heart to hear that I did it for money.”
Finally, Yumdang said, “Daedoseogwan left this world having lived happily with his loving family, good friends, and fans. Please do not worry too much, and let’s cherish only the good memories for a long time.”
Daedoseogwan, who had 1.44 million subscribers, was a first-generation gaming broadcaster on YouTube. He married Yumdang in 2015 but divorced after eight years.
He continued his activities, attending the 2026 S/S Seoul Fashion Week fashion show held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Jung-gu, Seoul, until the 4th. He was found dead at his home in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, at 8:40 AM on the 6th, at the age of 46. He has been laid to rest at Incheon Yaksa Temple, Mita-jeon 6-78.
