According to the legal community on the 3rd, the Seoul Western District Court's Criminal Division 1 (Chief Judge Park Ji-won) sentenced Mr. Jeong, who faced charges of theft and nighttime residential burglary, to 2 years in prison.
The court stated, “The defendant has acknowledged the facts of the indictment, expressed his intention to surrender to the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul, and the stolen items have been returned to the victim,” adding, “We considered the fact that the defendant has a prior conviction for similar offenses, committed a crime during the probation period, the high value of the stolen items in this case, and the victim's request for severe punishment.”
