Gree, the son of broadcaster Kim Gura and a rapper, has started an enthusiastic promotion ahead of his discharge from the Marine Corps.
On the 2nd, Gree posted on his Instagram, “Young people, join the Marine Corps. I hope many will come,” along with a photo.
The photo shows the Marine Corps booth at the ‘2025 Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education Vocational High School Job Fair’ taking place at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.
Gree, who enlisted in the Marine Corps last July, stated, “I wanted to develop my independence and learn how to survive on my own,” adding, “I thought that joining the Marine Corps would help me develop a strong mindset, so I planned it a long time ago.”
Since enlisting, Gree has been recognized for his exemplary military service, receiving awards such as the Model Marine Certificate and the Facility and Environmental Management Contribution Award.
His father, Kim Gura, expressed his hopes during a radio broadcast in January, saying, “I hope Dong-hyun does his best, serves healthily, and engages in good activities after his discharge next year.”
Since elementary school, Gree has gained attention for his unique sense of entertainment by appearing with his father Kim Gura on shows like ‘Star Golden Bell’, ‘Star Junior Show Bungeoppang’, and ‘You Are the Best’.
In 2016, he expanded his activities by releasing his debut rap album ‘Nineteen’. Until his enlistment, he communicated with fans through various broadcasts and operated a YouTube channel called ‘Greegura’ with his father Kim Gura.
