Medical journalist Hong Hye-gul shared his situation three years after lung surgery.
On the 26th, Hong Hye-gul announced on his social media, “Today at the hospital, I confirmed ‘no recurrence’ during my three-year check-up after lung surgery,” adding, “I will see you more often on ‘After the Rain’ now.”
He also expressed his joy, saying, “I just had a great time at the karaoke with the staff and the guest performers. I’m happy to have scored 100 points with Lee Jong-seok’s song ‘Because I Love You.’ Everyone, be happy.”
Hong Hye-gul's wife, Yeo Esther, mentioned in her YouTube channel in 2023, “Last April, Hong Hye-gul underwent surgery for a ground-glass opacity, which is a precursor to lung cancer, using thoracoscopy.”
She continued, “I think he is completely cured, but my husband insists that he needs to breathe good air and eat good food in Jeju Island,” which brought laughter.
Hong Hye-gul and Yeo Esther got married in 1994 and have two sons.
The couple has appeared on various entertainment programs, gaining much love for their medical knowledge and witty banter.
Currently, Hong Hye-gul communicates with the public through his YouTube channel ‘After the Rain,’ while Yeo Esther has ‘Esther TV.’
