Actor Jang Dong-yoon's photoshoot has been revealed.
The fashion magazine ‘Harper's Bazaar’ Korea has released a photoshoot featuring Jang Dong-yoon.
In this photoshoot, Jang Dong-yoon showcased a refreshing and natural boyish charm reminiscent of a youth film, along with intense and bold gazes and poses, revealing a contrasting appeal.
In an interview, Jang Dong-yoon explained the reason for choosing the role of Cha Soo-yeol, the son of serial killer Jung Yi-shin (Go Hyun-jung), in the SBS drama ‘Mantis: The Murderer's Outing,’ which is set to be released on September 5.
Jang Dong-yoon stated, “The reason I chose this project is largely due to the influence of director Byun Young-joo. I trusted the director and chose this work, and I was excited to see how he would express and resolve human conflicts and emotions within the thriller genre, just like in his previous works ‘Hwa-cha’ and ‘Death to Snow White.’ It was challenging, but I approached it with a pleasant sense of responsibility and tension.”
When asked about the challenges he faced while playing the role of Soo-yeol, Jang Dong-yoon said, “It was a task to show the moments of expressing resentment towards his mother and to contrast that with Soo-yeol's usual demeanor as a detective who does not confront his mother. I felt that if expressed incorrectly, the emotions could become too intense, so I discussed the subtle points of the emotional line with the director a lot.”
When asked about the moment he gained confidence in continuing to act as an actor, Jang Dong-yoon replied, “Rather than a dramatic moment, I feel like I am always checking in. I ask myself if I am doing well as an actor, if I am growing properly. Although it’s slow, I believe I am heading in the right direction. I want to work as an actor for a long time. It’s very interesting to express life, have various experiences, and always learn. I feel the greatest joy when I am on set.”
Jang Dong-yoon's photoshoot and interview can be found in the September issue of ‘Harper's Bazaar’ and on their website.
