The Japanese animated film ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ has surpassed 2 million viewers in just 5 days since its release, sweeping through theaters upon its debut.

According to the integrated ticketing system on the 26th, ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’ achieved a cumulative total of 2 million viewers as of 7 PM that day.

This marks a record for the fastest 2 million viewers among this year's releases, surpassing ‘Zombie Daughter’ (6 days), ‘Mickey 17’ (10 days), and ‘Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning’ (12 days). It is expected to exceed the previous film’s record of 2.22 million viewers, ‘Demon Slayer: Mugen Train’.

The film depicts the first chapter of the final battle between the ‘Demon Slayer Corps’ and elite demons in the demon stronghold, Mugen. It continues to show explosive box office success in Japan, attracting 19.82 million viewers over 38 days and recording box office revenue of 28 billion yen, ranking third in Japan's all-time box office.

The ‘Demon Slayer’ phenomenon is hot both domestically and internationally. In particular, it has achieved high ratings, with a CGV Golden Egg Index of 96%, a Megabox score of 9.5, and a Naver real viewing score of 9.19, proving both its artistic quality and commercial success.

Audiences have shared their deep emotions with enthusiastic reactions, saying things like “I’m the one who cried every 30 minutes” (X se***), “I didn’t even try to hold back my tears.
