Director Yeon Sang-ho, who gained global fame through Netflix, is set to release his new film 'Face' simultaneously in Korea and the United States.
On the 7th, the American magazine 'Variety' reported that the 'Face' team recently signed a distribution rights contract with the US distributor 'Well Go USA' to secure North American distribution.
'Face' has been invited to the Special Presentation section of the 50th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) taking place in September, where it will have its first local screening. It will then be released in North America on September 26.
The film is a mystery genre that depicts the process of blind craftsman Lim Young-kyu and his son Lim Dong-hwan uncovering the death of their mother, which has been buried for 40 years. Actor Park Jung-min takes on a dual role, joined by Kwon Hae-hyo and Shin Hyun-bin.
Doris Padro, representative of Well Go USA, described it as "an intriguing mystery thriller that unravels family secrets," adding that "the layered script and the captivating performances of the actors are key points."
It is also being pushed for a September release in Korea.
