Broadcaster Jang Young-ran candidly revealed the conflicts with her husband, oriental medicine doctor Han Chang, and the reason for closing their 400-pyeong oriental medicine hospital.
On the 6th, a video titled 'Jang Young-ran, who sold her 400-pyeong oriental medicine hospital and is managing the household' was released on Jang Young-ran's YouTube channel.
In this video, Han Chang met with Director Imo-ran's husband, Park Dong-jun, and during their conversation, he said, "It's good that my wife is doing well. In fact, when someone is doing well, feelings of inferiority naturally arise, and self-esteem tends to drop."
He continued, "But it's not that we are shrinking; it's that we are here, and that's why the lady is doing well," and showed his emotions with tears.
Jang Young-ran expressed her sincerity, saying, "I sold the hospital. (My husband) has been resting for a month or two. I think he put aside his dreams for me to do better. So, I feel sorry." She added, "We fought a lot while running the hospital, but since my husband quit, we haven't fought at all. He has embraced me with a bigger heart."
Han Chang revealed, "Around early 2022, we almost got divorced," and said, "I have an oriental medicine license, but for the time being, I want to focus on household chores. Jang Young-ran used to do everything, but she got busy. Someone has to do it, and that's what I'm doing now," showing his loving side.
Jang Young-ran shared her affection, saying, "Even when I wasn't doing well, he said, 'You're not that kind of person. You're a really shining person.' Even when I was quite unlikable, he supported me, and we got married. He is the one who helped me grow."
The couple got married in 2009 and has one son and one daughter.
Han Chang opened a 400-pyeong oriental medicine hospital in Mapo-gu, Seoul, in October 2021, with Jang Young-ran taking charge of hospital promotion and focusing on supporting him. However, in October 2022, he lamented, "I have a debt of 2.2 billion won. I took out a loan against our house to open the hospital, and if the hospital fails, we will lose our home. It's been a year since we opened, and I haven't been able to pay back even 1 won of the debt."
Later, in February, Jang Young-ran and Han Chang jointly purchased a unit in Galleria Foret located in Seongdong-gu, Seongsu-dong 1-ga, for 9.45 billion won. According to the property registration, about 5.7 billion won of collateral has been established.
