The 'original handsome comedian' Kim In-seok was thought to have become a church pastor, but it turned out to be a skit.
The incident involving Kim In-seok was initiated by comedian Yoon Sung-ho, who is currently active as 'New Jeans Monk.' On the 6th, Yoon Sung-ho revealed Kim In-seok's recent situation through a video titled '[Special Documentary] Why Did New Jeans Monk Go to Church!?' on his YouTube channel 'New Sung-ho bbakoo.'
In the video, Yoon Sung-ho, dressed as a monk, visited a church opened by his classmate. The person who welcomed him at that church was none other than Kim In-seok.
Kim In-seok welcomed him, saying, "Brother, please come into God's temple," while also calling him "Ssaebsaeb," revealing their close relationship.
Yoon Sung-ho responded, "How can you call me Ssaebsaeb?" and jokingly remarked about Kim In-seok, "This guy's nickname is 'Kka-bul-i.' I don't know how someone who used to mess around became a pastor. He used to steal other people's money."
However, Kim In-seok calmly replied, "Now I only steal the hearts of our sisters. I only mess around in God's embrace."
He expressed his aspirations, saying, "This is a newly starting church. I believe that we will expand this temple further. Though the beginning is weak, I believe the end will be glorious, and that God will work in all of this."
Yoon Sung-ho continued to joke by giving him prayer beads and talismans as gifts, and he even struck a wooden fish in the worship hall, saying he would pray for the church's prosperity.
Kim In-seok humorously remarked, "That's business interference," and added, "If you hear the sound of the wooden fish in the church," ultimately unable to hide his embarrassment, which brought laughter.
He also shared a bittersweet memory, saying, "Yoon Sung-ho used to bully me in school, but he’s doing well now. I prayed during dawn prayers to go to hell. We used to fight thoughtlessly when we were young."
Yoon Sung-ho responded, "Even Kka-bul-i became a pastor without messing around. My mother took good care of me. Does your mother still go to the temple?" and expressed surprise, saying, "It's amazing that my mother goes to the temple while her son has become a pastor."
However, it turned out to be a skit. On the 11th, Kim In-seok clarified the rumors about his transition to a pastor through his SNS, stating, "It was a skit,"
He continued, "Recently, I posted a video on Sung-ho's YouTube channel featuring the 'Monk and Pastor' concept that I've been doing since 'Comedy Big League,' and I've been getting calls from people who thought I really became a pastor! Even a newspaper reporter contacted me for an interview," and added, "Everyone! I am still actively working as a broadcaster! If I ever become a pastor, I will let you know first."
Kim In-seok debuted as a theater actor in 1998 and gained fame as a KBS public recruitment comedian in 2001. He appeared in various popular segments on the KBS gag program 'Gag Concert' and collaborated with Yoon Sung-ho. In 2003, he received the Best Corner Award in the Comedy category at the 'KBS Entertainment Awards.'
In 2014, he married broadcaster Angela Park and has one son.
