Actor Song Young-kyu was found dead on the morning of the 4th. He was 56 years old.

According to the Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province, a friend discovered Song Young-kyu dead in a vehicle in a residential area in Yongin City around 8 a.m. on the same day and reported it. No suicide note was found at the scene.

Born in 1970, Song Young-kyu made his debut in 1994 with the children's musical 'Mertel Dosa' and later appeared in films such as 'Public Enemy 2', 'Wish', 'Extreme Job', and dramas like 'Mary's Kitchen', 'Golden Time', and 'Reply 1988'. He particularly gained attention as a scene-stealer for his role as Chief Choi, a rival of Ryu Seung-ryong's character in 'Extreme Job'.

While actively working in both films and dramas, Song Young-kyu recently faced controversy due to a drunk driving charge. On June 19, he was charged with driving under the influence after drinking with friends in Yongin City and driving approximately 5 km home.

After the drunk driving charge became known on July 25, he stepped down from the play 'Shakespeare in Love', in which he was performing. Additionally, the production teams of the SBS drama 'Try' and ENA's 'I Shopping' stated that they would edit his scenes as much as possible.

The funeral hall for the late Song Young-kyu has been set up at the Davos Hospital Funeral Home (English Medical Foundation) in Room 1. His two daughters and wife are listed as the bereaved family. The funeral will be held on the morning of the 6th at 8 a.m., and the burial site will be at the Hambeoksan Memorial Park.
