Actress Yoonju expressed her gratitude towards her donor on the fourth anniversary of her liver transplant surgery.
On the 24th, Yoonju posted on her SNS, “It has already been four years since I received this miracle.”
She continued, “Looking back to today four years ago, even amidst the chaos, I couldn’t believe it and kept confirming it over and over. I had many wishes, and at times, I felt a pain in my heart from emotions I couldn’t understand. I thought to myself, I must live well. I must work hard. I must show it. I think I was greedy and wanted more. And now, as I walk through these four years, so many things have happened.”
Yoonju reflected, “It has been eventful, with moments of frustration, sadness, and laziness. However, there were many happy moments, and I tried my best. Like clearing a mission, I gradually recovered my health and was able to approach the things I wanted to achieve, even if just by half a step.”
She added, “I will take better care of myself. I will become happier. I will become healthier and try to soar like the sky. I will solidify the next five and ten years.”
In conclusion, Yoonju expressed, “I want to thank the person who made me who I am today. I also want to express my gratitude to all the loved ones who are protecting me now. Thank you.”
Yoonju halted her activities in April 2020 due to acute liver failure and underwent a liver transplant in July 2021, spending time recovering.
Yoonju has appeared in films such as ‘Miss Wife’, ‘Solo Vacation’, ‘Crime City’, and dramas like ‘Kill Me, Heal Me’, ‘Police Station Next to Fire Station’, and ‘National Forensic Service’. Recently, she appeared as the mother of Jewel (Yoon Jae-hyun) in ‘Cheongdam International High School 2’.
