Actress Chae-rim shared her thoughts on remarriage.
On the 9th, a video was posted on Chinese social media Weibo showing Chae-rim dining at a Beijing duck restaurant with her 7-year-old son, responding to a question from a Chinese acquaintance.
In the video, when asked about her thoughts on remarriage, Chae-rim replied, “With someone other than the child's father?” and dismissed it by saying, “I have never thought about it.”
She continued, “If we don't match or if the couple is not on the same page, it’s difficult,” adding, “Maybe when the child is all grown up, I can think about it then.”
Chae-rim also stated that she cannot replace the role of the child's father, but emphasized, “Instead, I give more stability and joy,” expressing her affection for her child.
When asked, “What if Gao Zhiqi remarries?” Chae-rim firmly responded, “It really doesn’t matter at all,” and said, “As long as it doesn’t affect the child, it’s really okay.”
She even mentioned, “I don’t care if my ex-husband brings a new girlfriend to see our son.”
Chae-rim added, “I have already told my child, ‘Dad might have a girlfriend. But mom can also have a boyfriend. That’s normal.’”

Chae-rim married Gao Zhiqi, with whom she co-starred in the Chinese CCTV drama 'The Yi Family,' in October 2014, and welcomed their son in 2017.
However, divorce rumors arose in March 2019, and the divorce was officially announced in 2020. Chae-rim returned to Korea with her child and has shared her life as a single mom through social media and JTBC's 'Brave Parenting: Solo Raising.'
