Actress Kim Nam-joo revealed her secret to maintaining her perfect figure.
On the 7th, a video titled ‘Why doesn’t Kim Nam-joo gain weight no matter how much she eats? *Secret revealed’ was released on Kim Nam-joo's YouTube channel.
Kim Nam-joo visited a regular restaurant with a friend. She explained, “This is a chicken soup place that has been around for 27 years, and we often come here with friends. Especially when I want to eat something less cooked while on a diet. It’s a place we come to because it’s so delicious.”
Kim Nam-joo ordered chicken soup, seafood pancake, stir-fried octopus, and soju. She said, “I actually prefer things like rice cakes over meat. I like carbohydrates. I also like tteokbokki.”
She added, “My husband Kim Seung-woo and I have really different food preferences. I don’t like food that much, so I adjust 100% to him. There was a time when I only ate Pyongyang cold noodles for a month,” explaining that “When my husband gets fixated on something, he only eats that. He goes on food tours.”
Despite claiming to have little interest in food, Kim Nam-joo enjoyed her meal quite a bit. She asserted, “Don’t you think what I said is right? I don’t seem like someone who likes to eat, do I?” However, the production team humorously responded, “Right now, anyone can see you look like a mukbang YouTuber.”
A friend commented, “I just found out after decades that you don’t really like to eat. I always thought you enjoyed eating because you always set a lavish table for us. Since you always prepare a full spread, no one really knows.”
For Kim Nam-joo, even she found it hard to resist food for the sake of dieting. She said, “I love kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). I’ve even cried over it. I wanted to eat so badly, but there was an awards ceremony a few days later. I had to dry out my body, but my family was eating this.” She continued, “I often find myself starving while my family eats deliciously,” sharing the struggles of a female actress managing her diet.
Kim Nam-joo also said, “Honestly, I could eat like this too. I just don’t. It feels so unfair all of a sudden,” adding, “The food I think about the most when dieting is tteokbokki. In fact, I wanted to eat it yesterday. I just wanted to eat one serving. But tteokbokki… (it makes you gain weight too much).”
She then expressed, “Isn’t it so sad? Why does delicious food make you gain weight? I wish I could eat as much as I want. I really like filming like this because I feel like I have very few memories of eating to my heart's content.”
