Choa, a former member of the group Crayon Pop, recalled her situation during her cervical cancer diagnosis.
On the 22nd, Choa posted on her SNS, “Today, two years ago, as shown by my iPhone. The day I had my first cancer surgery,” and added, “It’s already been two years. I’m just grateful to be healthy like this now,” along with several photos taken during her hospitalization.
Choa shared, “It was a continuous series of dark and cloudy days, but it was an experience that taught me that someday a rainbow will surely appear in the clear sky,” and expressed, “There are still many mountains to climb, but it was a precious time where I gained significant life lessons as much as the pain I endured.”
In particular, Choa mentioned that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer while visiting a fertility clinic for prenatal tests in preparation for pregnancy. She recalled, “Three days later, I was supposed to go on a trip to Nha Trang with my husband, and I had done my nails beautifully, but I had to minimize everything and undergo various tests like CT and MRI in this state,” adding, “It was a time when I could only cry, hoping it was all a dream.”
After feeling only despair, Choa said she eventually changed her mindset to a more positive one. She thought of herself as the heroine of a drama called life, saying, “I thought, ‘So this is why I’m experiencing all sorts of things,’” and added, “When I thought that this pain and trial is ultimately part of a scenario for a happy ending, I felt much more at ease and was able to endure quite positively.”
Choa revealed that she married a businessman six years her senior in 2021 and was diagnosed with cervical cancer during her newlywed period. Fortunately, she underwent surgery to remove the cancer while preserving her fertility, and it has been reported that she received permission from medical staff to try for pregnancy earlier this year.
Choa debuted in 2012 with her twin sister Way as part of Crayon Pop, gaining much love with hit songs like “Bar Bar Bar” and “Uh-ee.” She is currently communicating with the public through her YouTube channel “Choa Life.”
