The scene showed signs of a struggle, including broken beer bottles and blood-stained towels, raising possibilities of sexual assault and robbery. The autopsy revealed the cause of death as asphyxiation due to neck compression, with no signs of sexual assault. After multiple examinations, the investigation team collected DNA and fingerprints from the scene, but due to the nature of the bar, identifying the perpetrator was challenging.
Among the evidence, a fingerprint found on a cup next to a disconnected phone on the counter became a turning point. The investigation team identified the victim's boyfriend from 20 years ago and a man who had previously assaulted her as suspects.
