Kwon Seon-hee, who appeared on ‘Steel Troops W’, announced that she plans to marry her same-sex partner this year.
On the 26th, a video titled “Special Episode on Yangqi! Yangqi and His Ordinary Girlfriend” was released on the YouTube channel ‘Live Broadcast, Women Prefer’.
The video featured Kwon Seon-hee sharing her love story with her ordinary girlfriend. Kwon introduced herself as “a former reserve lieutenant from the 53rd Infantry Division.” She gained recognition as the team leader of the Army team on the Channel A entertainment program ‘Steel Troops W’, which ended last December. After her discharge, she has been active as a model and marathon runner. Her girlfriend revealed that she is “30 years old and works at an F&B company in Seoul.”
Kwon Seon-hee explained that they got together thanks to her appearance on ‘Steel Troops W’, saying, “There was a bakery I used to visit often. I hadn’t been able to go for a while due to being busy, but when I went back after a long time, my girlfriend was at the counter. She kept looking at me and smiling, and I thought, ‘Is there something on my face?’ but she recognized me as a cast member of ‘Steel Troops W’.”
She continued, “I fell for her because she has a beautiful smile and I was impressed by the way she made coffee. Her neat hairstyle, shoulder line, and the way she wore an apron were really striking,” adding, “As I was buying bread, I flirted with her, saying ‘DM me’.”
Kwon Seon-hee also mentioned, “Until I filmed ‘Steel Troops W’ and the broadcast aired, I thought I was heterosexual,” clarifying, “I appeared as a soldier, not to meet women.”
Her girlfriend explained, “(Kwon Seon-hee) said she has never liked a woman before, but it seems she likes me.”
The couple is currently living together. Kwon stated, “We are cohabiting. I tried to register as a spouse when I moved in, but since it’s a same-sex relationship, it was difficult to register as a spouse, so I registered as a cohabitant,” adding, “I will be going to New York for the marathon in November. We decided to go together. I heard there’s a place where we can make marriage vows locally, so if the opportunity arises, we plan to do that.”
