‘Pollunteer’ continues to maintain its heated popularity even after its conclusion, thanks to the support of viewers hoping for a Season 2.

Last week, a behind-the-scenes video titled ‘Wrapping Up Pollunteer Season 1…’ was posted on the KBS Sports YouTube channel. The video captured the locker room moments after the final match against the Seoul-Gyeongin Alliance.

With a victory over the Seoul-Gyeongin Alliance, they successfully conquered the national futsal championship, and the excitement of defeating their rival, Gimpo Zest, made the locker room lively. ‘Pollunteer’, which had recorded 2 wins and 2 losses against the Seoul-Gyeongin Alliance and was on the brink of elimination, wrote an unscripted drama when Jo Won-hee scored a fantastic winning goal with an assist from Baek Ji-hoon just before the end of the match.

Despite suffering an ankle injury, Jo Won-hee showed his fighting spirit by even getting a consent form from his wife, which doubled the emotional impact. However, Lee Chan-won caused laughter by misunderstanding the part of the consent form that read ‘my beloved wife and my everything’ as ‘ex-wife’. Kim Young-kwang applauded Lee Chan-won’s sense of humor, saying, “As expected from an entertainment award winner.”

In particular, the members of ‘Pollunteer’ showcased their commitment through their daring plays. As a goalkeeper, Kim Young-kwang scored the first goal for ‘Pollunteer’ in the match against LIFE FC and saved the team from a crisis by blocking a powerful shot from Gimpo Zest with his face. Key defender Kim Dong-cheol also endured a strong blow to the head during a collision in the match against Eunpyeong FS but overcame it with his determination to win.

Lee Chan-won expressed his admiration, saying, “Today, I learned about the greatness of Jeon Ga-eul. He showed overwhelming skills against players in their 20s.” Jeon Ga-eul made a significant impact in the match against the Seoul City Hall Amazons, scoring two goals and demonstrating the majesty of a legend. In the same match, Hyun Young-min scored the opening goal but received explosive jeers, which brought laughter.

‘Pollunteer’ covered the futsal challenges of retired football legends with an average age of 41.4 years. Competing against the strongest teams from various regions, they recorded 13 wins and 7 losses in 20 matches, showcasing their indomitable will to conquer the nation. Through this, they donated a total of 65 million won to help pediatric cancer patients, wildfire recovery funds, and children at risk of food insecurity, exerting a positive influence.

Lee Yong-pyo expressed his emotions, saying, “Our skills and physical condition were not at a level to conquer the nation. We achieved all of this with our determination to win. This is the spirit of Pollunteer.” Finally, Lee Chan-won shouted, “Let’s go for Season 2!” promising a future return.

Viewers also sent supportive messages such as, “I hope to see Pollunteer Season 2, which gave us both fun and emotion,” “What is sports really about... It was such a touching and wonderful challenge,” “There has never been such a beneficial sports entertainment. I’m looking forward to the sequel,” “It was a program filled with emotion and fun, thanks to the entertaining Taeguk Warriors and the precise commentary of Lee Chan-won and Nam Hyun-jong,” “The determination to win is a responsibility for giving, and it was a heartwarming and overwhelming experience,” “All the players and hosts were so genuine that I was moved,” etc.

It remains to be seen whether ‘Pollunteer’ will return for Season 2.
