Jennie's first solo studio album 'Ruby' has been recognized as the best album of the year.
On the 5th (local time), the famous American music magazine Rolling Stone announced on its official website that Jennie's first solo studio album 'Ruby' was selected as one of 'The Best Albums of 2025 So Far'.
Rolling Stone commented on 'Ruby', stating, "It interestingly reinterprets the ideas that dominated R&B-centered pop in the 2000s and 2010s," and added, "Jennie not only possesses impressive abilities to dominate the candy-coated pop R&B scene but also evokes moments reminiscent of the self-reflection showcased by Rihanna in her 2016 album 'Anti'."
The American media Complex also named Jennie's 'Ruby' as one of the 'Best Albums of 2025'.
The outlet praised, "Ruby opens a new chapter for Jennie," noting that tracks like 'Like Jennie' demonstrate the artist's proven performance abilities with pop perfection, while ballads like 'Twin' showcase her soft and delicate side, proving her vocal capabilities."
Jennie is the only K-pop artist to be included in the 'Best Albums of 2025' list selected by Rolling Stone and Complex.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, to which Jennie belongs, is set to kick off their '2025 World Tour' with opening performances at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium on July 5 and 6, followed by a large-scale global tour in North America, Europe, Japan, and more.
