Singer JK Kim Dong-wook (49, John Kim) has targeted the Lee Jae-myung government again.
On the 5th, JK Kim Dong-wook posted on social media, "Make a call like Trump. The national dignity is falling, and the people's complaints are in an uproar. If you don't have time, have the kids light a beacon or something."
There were speculations that the first call between President Lee Jae-myung and U.S. President Donald Trump would take place shortly after the inauguration on the 4th, but it did not happen. In response, Presidential Office spokesperson Kang Yoo-jung stated, "It seems difficult for the call to happen tonight," citing "time zone issues."
Debuting in 2002, JK Kim Dong-wook is a Korean-Canadian who has recently shown his political colors in the conservative camp, including opposition to former President Yoon Seok-youl's impeachment.
When Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party, was acquitted in the appeal trial for violating the Public Official Election Act, he criticized, "I hope you meet a good judge even if you commit a crime in the future. This is a country where there is no law, only political trash running rampant," and lamented, "The rule of law in South Korea is collapsing" when former President Yoon was imprisoned.
He also showed an agitated reaction after Lee Jae-myung was elected as the 21st President.
JK Kim Dong-wook expressed discomfort on social media, stating, "In the end, it has led to the result of having to include songs that should not be included. Perhaps this anxiety naturally led me to write such songs," and added, "It seems that there will be more times to sing about a world we should not have to experience rather than love songs."
He further remarked, "From the first day, I started to feel embarrassed, and it feels like a crisis is looming over South Korea. Am I the only one feeling this?" and expressed dissatisfaction with the new government's launch, saying, "Only the appearance of progress, but in reality, regression."
