Former baseball player Choo Shin-soo will donate the amount he receives from selling his cherished vehicle.

On the 4th, a video titled 'Choo Shin-soo is selling his Bentley' was released on the YouTube channel run by his wife, Hawonmi.

In the video, Hawonmi said, “There has been a lot of interest in our content. We read all the comments, and there are many supporters as well as many who are worried. We didn’t expect things to get this big.”

Earlier, Hawonmi announced that she would auction off Choo Shin-soo's memorabilia while he was in the United States. She particularly drew attention by stating that she would sell the Bentley, which she bought for about 300 million won ten years ago.

Hawonmi joked, “We talked about disposing of the car among ourselves. I hesitated to open my heart because we didn’t have time, but I broke the ice.”

Choo Shin-soo explained, “Before going to the U.S., I asked her to just start the engine because the battery might die, but she got rid of the car entirely. I was going to sell it anyway, and my wife sparked the idea. I have been interested in single-parent families. I plan to donate the full amount from the sale of the car.”

He added, “When we were raising our kids, I often went on away games, and my wife raised them almost alone. I think I will donate the full amount from the sale to that cause.”

Hawonmi stated, “We will start selling after the video is uploaded. I hope those who share the same sentiment as us will show interest. Anyway, the intention started secretly from Choo Shin-soo, but I wanted to finish it well.”

Hawonmi and Choo Shin-soo got married in 2002 and have two sons and one daughter. The couple has previously shared their married life in the U.S. through broadcasts. Choo Shin-soo, who has retired from active duty, is currently serving as a special advisor to the owner of SSG and overseeing player development.
