The international housing welfare non-profit organization Korea Habitat successfully concluded the '2025 6.6 Walking Event' in collaboration with singer Shawn.
On June 6, Memorial Day, the event took place at Namsan Park in Seoul, with a total of 2,200 citizens participating, walking 6.6 km to honor the sacrifices of the patriots and express gratitude to national veterans.
The total participation fee of 66 million won collected from participants was donated as a fund for improving the living conditions of national veterans. Korea Citibank supported the event with 250 million won in sponsorship, and The North Face contributed reward items such as t-shirts and children's products, joining in the warm sharing.
This year's walking event garnered significant interest, closing registrations just two weeks after they opened, with an increase in family participation compared to last year. A special program for elementary school students was newly planned, where child participants walked 6.6 km, solved quizzes related to Memorial Day, and collected stamps to complete a Taegeukgi shape in a 'Stamp Mission Event.' Children who completed the task received special rewards sponsored by The North Face.
The event was attended by Lee Kwang-hoe, Secretary-General of Korea Habitat, and singer Shawn, the campaign ambassador, with popular YouTuber 'Genius Lee Seung-guk' serving as the host. Additionally, actors Jin Sun-kyu and Lim Se-mi from Shawn's running crew 'Unknown Crew' joined in the meaningful steps, contributing to the positive influence.
Singer Shawn expressed, "I am grateful to commemorate Memorial Day meaningfully with many people this year," and added, "I hope the 6.6 Walking Event becomes a culture of gratitude and remembrance beyond just an event."
