National football team player Jung Woo-young (25) and actress Lee Kwang-ki's daughter Yeon-ji (25) are set to light the wedding candles.
According to the industry on the 20th, Jung Woo-young and Lee Kwang-ki's daughter Yeon-ji will hold their wedding ceremony on June 15 in Seoul.
On that day, Lee Kwang-ki expressed his joy in a phone call with Maeil Business Newspaper Star Today, saying, “I am truly happy that both of them are getting married at their most beautiful and wonderful time. They really suit each other well.”
Regarding his future son-in-law Jung Woo-young, he praised, “He is diligent and every word he speaks is cautious. Above all, they really like each other. That sight is truly beautiful. He is a first-class son-in-law who never does anything carelessly.”
The wedding ceremony will be hosted by broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk. Yoo Jae-suk has maintained a long-standing relationship with Lee Kwang-ki through the celebrity baseball team and has shown affection for Yeon-ji since her childhood.
According to the industry, the two met through mutual acquaintances before the COVID-19 pandemic, became friends of the same age, and eventually decided to marry.
Previously, Yeon-ji gained public recognition by appearing on various entertainment programs such as JTBC’s ‘You Are the Best’ with Lee Kwang-ki. In particular, she drew attention in 2022 when she appeared on TV Chosun’s ‘Perfect Life’ for resembling actress Son Ye-jin.
Jung Woo-young is currently active as a player for Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga. He joined the South Korean national football team in 2021, gaining recognition for his skills.
Jung Woo-young is recovering from an ankle injury he sustained last March and is currently busy preparing for the wedding in Korea.
Lee Kwang-ki debuted as a child actor in the 1985 KBS drama ‘The Hill of Sunrise’. He later rose to prominence by appearing in hit works such as ‘Taejo Wang Geon’, ‘The Age of Heroes’, ‘Jeong Do-jeon’, and ‘Taejong Yi Bang-won’.
He is currently active as an art director and operates a gallery in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. Yeon-ji is also reported to have worked as a gallerist there.
