Singer Sung Si-kyung's team has urged caution against scams.
On the 14th, Sung Si-kyung's agency, SK Jae-won, posted on their official SNS, “Beware of scams” along with a phone number.
The agency stated, “We received reports that someone contacted us claiming to be making a reservation for filming 'I will eat season 2', inducing the purchase of alcohol and demanding money,” and added, “Please be cautious of scam calls and do not respond to monetary requests.”
They further stated, “Our 'I will eat' team never requests money for alcohol purchases,” and advised, “Please be careful of scams, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us via Instagram DM or through the manager you know.”
Recently, scams impersonating celebrities have been rampant. These scammers pose as employees of entertainment agencies or production companies, make restaurant reservations, and claim to have connections with alcohol suppliers, suggesting that if they can pay for expensive alcohol on behalf of the scammers, they will settle the meal costs later. When people comply and make payments, the scammers do not show up at the reserved time, and the alcohol that was supposed to be delivered does not arrive, causing losses for the restaurant.
In response, many stars, including Song Ga-in, Byun Woo-seok, and Ha Jung-woo, have issued warnings stating, “Our staff never requests money or purchases from outside under any circumstances.”
