Psychological counselor Lee Ho-sun recently announced that he changed his telecom provider following a recent incident of subscriber identification module (USIM) information leakage.

On the 1st, Lee Ho-sun posted on social media, “In the end, I switched. I had been using one telecom provider for a long time, but I decided to step back into the previous world. Today, I switched my telecom provider and also changed subways, and it made me think that there are many things in the world to switch to. It’s not a big deal to switch if it’s not something significant.”

He continued, “However, switching people is always difficult. It would be nice if it were as easy as switching public transport, but blood ties are strong, relationships are intense, love is sticky, and the heart is always weak. Even though I feel uneasy and uncomfortable, if I make a new choice, let’s switch comfortably while I’m at it. I wonder if it’s really that different here, and it’s even inconvenient and bothersome. I might return again, but like the memories of love that I had to let go, goodbye.”

SK Telecom discovered signs of a hacker's malware attack that leaked the USIM information of SK Telecom subscribers around 11:40 PM on the 19th of last month. The leaked information is said to include unique identification numbers that identify each subscriber's USIM.

As the possibility of financial fraud using cloned phones identical to the mobile phones arose, SK Telecom is currently implementing a free USIM replacement service at over 2,600 T World stores nationwide, but due to a shortage of supplies, there is a nationwide 'USIM crisis'.

Lee Yoo-sang, CEO of SK Telecom, bowed his head at a briefing held at T Tower in Euljiro, Seoul, on the 2nd, stating, “Even though we ordered USIMs as soon as the incident occurred, there are issues with the delivery period, and there may be shortages until the 14th to 15th.” He added, “Starting from the 5th, we decided to suspend new subscriptions and number transfers at T World stores nationwide and focus solely on the USIM replacement service.”

Meanwhile, Lee Ho-sun, a professor at Soongsil Cyber University and a counselor, gained recognition by appearing on the JTBC entertainment program ‘Divorce Reflection Camp’.
