During the May golden holiday, ‘LIV Golf Korea’ in collaboration with Coupang Play opens the door to a new golf festival that the whole family can enjoy.
From May 2 (Friday) to 4 (Sunday), ‘LIV Golf Korea’ will be held at Incheon Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea, attracting the attention of spectators with its world-class golf matches, diverse performances and food, and a family-friendly play environment that encompasses all generations.
In particular, the 8th hole, known as the 'party hole', will feature live DJ performances, and when a hole-in-one is made, champagne will be popped in celebration. On a field filled with the unique energy of LIV Golf, Korean golf fans can loudly cheer for world-class golfers such as Jon Rahm, Bryson DeChambeau, Brooks Koepka, and Joaquín Niemann, who recently won his third victory of the year at the Mexico City tournament. Additionally, fans can expect the chance to take photos or get autographs with LIV Golf players who are open to fan service while watching their play up close.
The 'Fan Village' of ‘LIV Golf Korea’ is designed as a complex cultural space where families can take a break from watching golf and enjoy various experiences together. Activities such as golf putting combined with pinball games, soccer, basketball, and mini-golf can be enjoyed by both adults and children. The 'eSports arcade' offers realistic golf games set in a replica of actual golf course terrain and slopes.
As the tournament takes place just before Children's Day, various spaces tailored to the eye level of young gallery members are waiting. The 'Kids Zone' features a large ball pit and offers various experiential activities such as arts and crafts and science experiments. With caricature and photo booths, new experiences continue without a break, as if visiting a theme park.
To encourage more family units to visit, children under 6 years old born after January 1, 2019, can enter for free when accompanied by one guardian. Children gallery members who enter on a first-come, first-served basis for each round can enjoy special memories at the dedicated space set up at the 1st hole, where they can watch the players' tee shots up close and take commemorative photos with the players.
The MD shop reflecting LIV Golf's team culture is also a must-visit course. Visitors can find various products representing the identities of 13 teams, including 'Ironhead GC', the team of Jang Yu-bin, who made the first entry into KPGA, and 'Reaper GC', which won the team championship last season with Cameron Smith, as well as Jon Rahm's 'Legion 13' and DeChambeau's 'Crushers GC'. Fans can wear their team's hats or uniforms while watching the game and purchase golf equipment that embodies the team's identity for actual use.
The finale of the golf festival will be adorned with a concert worthy of an end-of-year awards ceremony. The 'LIV Golf Korea Concert with Coupang Play', which will take place right after the final round, features a lineup reminiscent of a music festival, including G-DRAGON, IVE, Dynamic Duo, Gummy, and the rookie girl group KiiiKiii.
After the artist lineup was confirmed, online reactions included comments like, “I love golf and have been a fan of GD for 19 years, so I think this will be a really happy event,” and “It feels like receiving a gift of both a golf tournament and a music festival at once.” In the emotional moment when the winner is decided, a grand stage of entertainment combining sports and music will unfold with performances from legendary artists.
Tickets for ‘LIV Golf Korea’ can only be purchased through Coupang Play. The first and second early bird tickets sold out, and general reservations have been ongoing since April 17. Ticket sales will continue through the Coupang Play mobile app during the tournament period, and even if tickets are not reserved in advance, Wow members can purchase tickets directly from the app on-site and enter.
