Singer Yoo Seung-jun dismissed claims that he sang 'Na Na Na' on a night stage in the U.S.
On the 30th, Yoo Seung-jun stated on his Instagram account, "It's all a lie, and it's 100% false from beginning to end."
Recently, a netizen living in the U.S. posted that Yoo Seung-jun was singing his past hit songs, including 'Na Na Na', on a night stage and introduced himself as 'Korea's Superstar'.
In response, Yoo Seung-jun said, "It's all a lie," adding, "I've never worked at a night stage, never sung 'Na Na Na', never called myself a Korean superstar, never surfed in California, never skateboarded, and I admit to wearing a hat and exercising."
Yoo Seung-jun also mentioned the situation regarding his entry ban to Korea.
He said, "All the lies that I have tried to correct about myself have been left as they are, surrounded by numerous lies and controversies. Do you know that the act of obtaining citizenship was considered an act to evade military service, leading to an entry ban without any legal judgment? Do you know that they have been denying my entry for 23 years without even questioning whether such administrative actions are lawful? If it was lawful, what is the validity period of that action?"
He also stated, "There is no need to explain who I was to the generation that knew me. I am still Yoo Seung-jun," adding, "I just feel sorry for those who believe in me. This is all I can do. I'm not saying I did everything right. It's my fault for not keeping my promises."
He continued, saying he was known as a singer who never performed on a night stage in the past, "Where exactly is that night stage? If I had known it would be like this, I should have done it back then."
Yoo Seung-jun debuted in 1997 and was loved for numerous hit songs such as 'Scissors', 'Passion', and 'Na Na Na', but he faced controversy over evading military service after obtaining U.S. citizenship before his enlistment in 2002, leading to a ban on his entry. Consequently, the Ministry of Justice has restricted his entry, and he has not been able to enter Korea since then.
