'The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' has confirmed the appearances of Jang Shin-young, Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, and Oh Chang-seok, marking the official start of the production.
The new MBC daily drama 'The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun' (planned by Jang Jae-hoon, directed by Kim Jin-hyung, written by Seol Kyung-eun) depicts a world where victims turn into perpetrators, showcasing a woman's desperate revenge against a conglomerate in the name of her only daughter.
Director Kim Jin-hyung, recognized for his delicate directing in the drama 'Heaven's Connection', and writer Seol Kyung-eun, who has presented solid narratives and realistic dialogues through dramas like 'Hide and Seek' and 'Two Women's Room', have teamed up for this project.
Among them, the main cast leading the drama includes Jang Shin-young, Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, and Oh Chang-seok.
Jang Shin-young plays the role of Baek Seol-hee, a single mother overflowing with bright and positive energy. Running a snack shop and raising her daughter alone, Baek Seol-hee gets caught in a whirlwind of fate that shatters her simple yet happy life, preparing for a revenge that is on a completely different level from what she has experienced so far. Based on her solid acting skills built through various works, Jang Shin-young is expected to perfectly portray Baek Seol-hee's complex and delicate emotional spectrum, ranging from warm maternal love to bloodthirsty revenge, creating a life-changing character.
Seo Ha-joon takes on the role of Moon Tae-kyung, the head of the new business division at Mingang Distribution. Moon Tae-kyung lost his parents in a mysterious accident during childhood and was adopted to the United States. Returning to Korea after 25 years to reclaim what was taken from him and to correct the wrongs, he meets Baek Seol-hee, a fateful counterpart with whom he will share both revenge and love, marking a turning point in his life. Yoon Ah-jung plays the role of Min Kyung-chae, the daughter of Mingang Distribution, who has been chosen as the next heir, surpassing the eldest grandson.
