The ‘Hanil Top Ten Show’ and the stars of ‘Current King of Masked Singer 2’ showcased their win-win chemistry through a prideful clash.
The 37th episode of MBN’s ‘Hanil Top Ten Show’, aired on the 17th at 9:20 PM, recorded a peak rating of 5% and a nationwide rating of 4.3% (according to Nielsen Korea), securing the top spot in entertainment ratings during the same time slot, including general and cable channels.
The competition that day was conducted as a one-on-one death match, where the protagonists of the albums chosen by the MCs pointed out their desired opponents.
The first performer, Song Min-jun, called upon Shin Sung and passionately sang ‘Palja’ with smooth tempo control. Shin Sung showcased a feast of vocal techniques with ‘Midnight Farewell’, but Song Min-jun emerged victorious.
Takuya mentioned that after appearing on ‘Current King of Masked Singer 2’, he gained many Korean fans, saying, “I came to meet this person,” calling out Byeol Sarang. Hwang Min-ho showcased explosive vocal talent with ‘Tess Hyung’, earning a standing ovation. Kim Da-hyun loudly declared, “I choose my favorite brother among the current kings,” calling out Kim Joong-yeon. Jae-ha chose ‘Wandering’, eliciting cheers with awkward dance moves and unique squeaky dancing, ultimately receiving the outcry, “Why didn’t you do this on Current King of Masked Singer?!” Jeon Yoo-jin showcased a fantastic harmony of extended high notes and levitating dance with ‘Love, Stop Now’, but Jae-ha won.
In the duet competition, Shin Sung and Son Tae-jin faced off against Choi Woo-jin and Jae-ha. Shin Sung and Son Tae-jin proved their vibe with a cheerful animal dance fitting the song title ‘Young Prairie’, while Choi Woo-jin and Jae-ha delivered a rich taste of trot with a proper harmony of strength and softness, but the victory went to Son Tae-jin and Shin Sung.
Next, Aki and Gong-hoon faced off, resulting in a big match between trot powerhouses. Aki, who chose ‘Hwa Ryong Po’, amazed everyone with peak vocal techniques typical of an enka prodigy, while Gong-hoon, singing ‘Han O Baek Nyun’, overwhelmed the stage with his incredible vocal range and won the match.
Finally, the remaining Kwon Young-gwang engaged in a special match unique to ‘Hanil Top Ten Show’ against the Mystery Duet, which was revealed to be Aki and Takuya, raising expectations. Aki and Takuya completed ‘Yawara’ with a perfect harmony of emotional voices, leaving a lingering impression, while Kwon Young-gwang sang ‘Shall We Go Eat Abalone’, getting everyone excited, but Aki and Takuya emerged victorious.
