The group Epik High brought laughter and fun with their New Year’s mountain climbing.
Epik High (Tablo, Mithra, Tukutz) uploaded a video titled “Almost Ruined My Life Climbing Gwanaksan After Believing in Fortune Telling” on their official YouTube channel on the 5th.
In the released video, Epik High visited Gwanaksan for their hike. Before starting the climb, Tablo looked at Gwanaksan and said, “Is that the mountain we’re going to climb?” showing a denial of reality, and as soon as the three gathered, they expressed their complaints, saying, “There are so many things to do in the world, yet we’re doing the thing we hate the most, which is climbing.” This brought laughter.
Epik High began their serious climb. While climbing, they naturally started a balance game and consistently engaged in cheerful banter, imitating ‘Squid Game’ whenever they had a chance. During the hike, snacks such as cucumbers for hydration, scones made by Tablo, sausages, and chips were shared, and Mithra showcased a warm atmosphere by distributing snacks to the staff who were struggling together.
Upon reaching the summit, Epik High took commemorative photos and expressed their wishes, saying, “I hope everyone does well in 2025, is happy, doesn’t get sick, and only has reasons to smile.” They also showcased their unique teamwork by presenting a lively eating show with ramen, a must-do at the summit.
In particular, Tablo, who lost his phone during the hike, posted on his personal SNS after the video was released, saying, “Lost my phone. I have lyrics and notes I’m working on in an app that I intentionally don’t sync. HELP ME,” garnering intense interest from fans. Previously, Tablo had lost lyrics he had written over the past 10 years due to an automatic phone update, which caused disappointment among everyone.
Epik High released ‘PUMP COLLECTOR’S EDITION’ in October last year and successfully wrapped up their solo concert held at the Handball Stadium in Olympic Park, Seoul, in December, creating precious memories for their fans. Recently, the title track ‘Michelin CYPHER’ from ‘PUMP COLLECTOR’S EDITION’ has been used as the theme song for chef Ahn Sung-jae’s YouTube channel, showcasing their presence as a legendary hip-hop group.
Meanwhile, Epik High plans to meet fans with entertaining YouTube content in the future.
