Park Jung-min from ‘Newtopia’ shared his thoughts on acting as a couple with Blackpink's Jisoo.

On the morning of the 7th, a production presentation for the Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’ was held at the Conrad Seoul Hotel in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Park Jung-min, Jisoo (Blackpink), and director Yoon Sung-hyun attended.

Park Jung-min and Jisoo will portray a romantic couple. Park Jung-min said, "There is a place at home where I keep my precious things. At the front is Jisoo's signed CD album. I am a huge fan of Blackpink and Jisoo, so I asked Kim Go-eun to get her signature for me. The first CD has 'Thank you for supporting me, senior Park Jung-min' written on it, and the second CD has 'Jung-min oppa, please take care of me' written on it. Looking at these two, I feel like I have lived well and think that I need to work even harder in the future. I never imagined that I would be acting with Jisoo, speaking informally, and sharing the same stage. It’s such an honor," he said, bringing smiles to the audience.

The Coupang Play series ‘Newtopia’ is a K-zombie story where soldier Jae-yoon (played by Park Jung-min) and his girlfriend Young-joo (played by Jisoo) run towards each other through a zombie-infested downtown Seoul. Directed by Yoon Sung-hyun, who gained attention with the films ‘The Guard’ and ‘Time to Hunt’, it promises a differentiated fun and spectacle that sets it apart from existing zombie stories, giving birth to a ‘zom-com’ (zombie comedy).

‘Newtopia’ will premiere on February 7 at 8 PM. It will be available in over 240 countries and regions through Prime Video internationally.
