The ‘2024 MBC Entertainment Awards’ will be held today (28th).
The event will be broadcast live at 8:20 PM from the Open Hall of the MBC Media Center in Sangam. Jeon Hyun-moo, Yoon Eun-hye, and Lee Jang-woo will host the show.
Originally scheduled for live broadcast on the 29th of last month, the event was canceled to join in mourning after the tragic accident involving a Jeju Air passenger plane at Muan International Airport that morning. While Jeon Hyun-moo, Lee Jang-woo, and Hye-ri were set to host, Hye-ri had to withdraw due to schedule changes, leaving Yoon Eun-hye to fill in.
Last year, MBC aired numerous programs, including popular existing shows like ‘Point of Omniscient Interference’, ‘How Do You Play?’, ‘I Live Alone’, ‘Radio Star’, ‘Home Alone’, and ‘It’s a Relief to Rest’. New programs such as ‘Class That Crosses the Line’, ‘Song Stealer’, ‘Frugal Man’, ‘Speakers’, and ‘Music Journey Born’ were also broadcast. Several pilot programs, including ‘The Leader’s Side Dishes’, ‘Weekly Taste Research Institute’, ‘Hot Topic’, and ‘Reaching You’, were aired as well.
As many programs have brought joy to viewers, attention is focused on who will take home the Grand Prize. The nominees for the Grand Prize will be revealed during the broadcast, so the candidates have not yet been disclosed. However, based on viewer ratings and popularity, there are some strong contenders.
First, Jeon Hyun-moo, who has been active in various MBC flagship programs and pilots such as ‘I Live Alone’, ‘Point of Omniscient Interference’, ‘Class That Crosses the Line’, ‘Reasonable Architecture’, ‘2024 Chuseok Special Idol Star Athletics Championships’, ‘Song Stealer’, and ‘Weekly Taste Research Institute’, is considered a strong candidate for the Grand Prize.
Jeon Hyun-moo has not only led ‘I Live Alone’ and ‘Point of Omniscient Interference’ stably but has also actively participated in pilot programs. In particular, he has appeared in ‘Class That Crosses the Line’, a continuation of the popular series ‘Those Who Cross the Line’, and has hosted numerous programs that have become pillars of MBC entertainment. As a result, there is speculation among industry insiders that his hard work may be rewarded.
Lee Jang-woo, a member of the ‘Rainbow’ cast from ‘I Live Alone’, is also considered a strong candidate for the Grand Prize. This year, he showcased his chemistry with Kim Dae-ho and Gi-an 84 by creating a new line after the Palm Oil line in ‘I Live Alone’. Additionally, he has demonstrated his capabilities as a main MC in shows like ‘The Leader’s Side Dishes’ and ‘Village Chief Lee Jang-woo’.
The traditional powerhouse Yoo Jae-suk cannot be overlooked. Yoo Jae-suk has led ‘How Do You Play?’ for six years without any discord, nurturing it into a new flagship program for MBC. Last year, ‘How Do You Play?’ received positive reviews from viewers as it featured various concepts such as ‘Good Deed Corporation’, ‘Investigation Team Leader 2024’, ‘How Do You Play Flea Market’, ‘Delivery of How Do You Play’, and ‘Our Festival’. Yoo Jae-suk showcased his skills as a national MC, demonstrating fantastic chemistry not only with the members but also with guests like Kim Seok-hoon and Lim Woo-il.
The glorious winner who illuminated MBC in 2024 will be revealed during the live broadcast of the ‘2024 MBC Entertainment Awards’ at 8:20 PM on the 28th.
