MBC stated, "This decision was made to commemorate the victims and to share in the pain of the bereaved families," adding, "We pray for the souls of the victims and once again extend our deepest condolences to the families."
SBS has canceled the 'SBS Entertainment Awards', which was scheduled for the 31st. There will be no broadcast or recorded broadcast.
KBS also decided to cancel the '2024 KBS Acting Awards', which was scheduled for live broadcast at 7 PM on the 31st. The 'KBS Acting Awards' will be switched to a recorded broadcast, with the scheduling details to be announced later.
KBS had previously held the '2024 Music Festival' on the 20th and the '2024 Entertainment Awards' on the 21st. SBS held the '2024 Acting Awards' on the 21st and the '2024 Music Festival' on the 25th. Only MBC had its major awards and year-end festival scheduled from the 29th.
The music industry is also participating in mourning by postponing scheduled comebacks and concert dates.
