The agency of the group ENHYPEN (Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunwoo, Niki) is taking legal action against privacy invasion.
On the 18th, ENHYPEN's agency, BELIFT LAB, announced the legal response regarding the infringement of ENHYPEN's rights through the fan communication platform Weverse.
The agency stated, “Recently, there have been serious privacy invasion acts against the artists, including stalking and illegal filming, as well as malicious manipulation and dissemination of false information aimed at defaming the artists, which have been repeatedly occurring.”
It continued, “These acts are subject to criminal punishment, and the disseminated false information has rapidly spread across various online communities and social media, seriously damaging the artists' reputation. We have implemented immediate legal actions such as reporting and filing complaints against the perpetrators of the aforementioned privacy invasions and false information dissemination based on a real-time monitoring system and valuable reports from fans.”
The agency also stated, “Based on the evidence collected, we have submitted a complaint to the investigative agency. Additionally, we will continue to gather malicious posts and comments that are posted and proceed with legal actions.”
Furthermore, the agency mentioned, “We are regularly taking legal action against those who have created malicious posts regarding defamation, insults, sexual harassment, dissemination of false information, and malicious slander against ENHYPEN. We have included malicious posts and comments posted on various domestic and international platforms and social media such as Ilgan Best, Theqoo, DC Inside, Nate Pann, Instiz, Fm Korea, Naver, and Daum in our complaints.”
In the early hours of the 11th, a netizen raised dating suspicions by posting a message and photos on social media, claiming that the two had spent time together at a bar in Gangnam, Seoul, and took taxis home separately with a time difference.
In response, Jungwon expressed his displeasure during a live broadcast on the 12th, saying, “There were comments asking if I’m dating, but I’m not dating. They asked if I smoke, but I don’t smoke either. I don’t know how those who posted this will handle it.”
