It has been 9 years since the late actress Kim Jin-ah passed away in a foreign country.
She passed away on August 20, 2014, at the age of 51 at her home in Hawaii, USA.
Kim Jin-ah's brother, actor Kim Jin-keun, stated at the time, "Kim Jin-keun and the family were with her at the end. They left for Hawaii two months prior to spend her last moments together." The late actress was diagnosed with terminal cancer in early 2014 and had been battling it until her health rapidly deteriorated, leading to her passing.
Her brother Kim Jin-keun mentioned in an interview, "My sister had a rare disease called scleroderma, which affects the immune system. It causes skin abnormalities and poor blood circulation," and added, "As she continued to suffer, her body developed abnormalities, leading to tumors, which eventually turned into cancer."
Kim Jin-ah, the daughter of actors Kim Jin-kyu and Kim Bo-ae, debuted in 1983 with the film 'Different Time, Different Place' and appeared in numerous works including 'The Underwater Bridge Seen from the Window', 'Daughter of Yahweh', 'The Housemaid', and dramas 'The Age of Individuality' and 'Empress Myeongseong'.
In 2000, she married American Kevin O'Jey and started a family in Hawaii, where she gave birth to a son.
