Singer Lee Chae-yeon has confirmed her participation in a rally following her support for the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol.

On the 14th, Lee Chae-yeon shared a photo on her personal SNS without any comments. The photo shows her holding a cheering stick. It appears she attended the rally demanding the passage of the second impeachment motion against President Yoon, which was held in the Yeouido area.

Earlier, on the 7th, Lee Chae-yeon communicated with fans through the platform From, saying, “Chae-ri-sh (Lee Chae-yeon's fan club), it was really cold back then, and it must have been really cold today too,” referring to the impeachment rally against President Yoon, “It was just as cold seven years ago...”

She continued, “Everyone, take care of yourselves and stay healthy, don’t get tired, let’s see it through to the end,” and added, “I’ll join you next week.”

Afterward, Lee Chae-yeon expressed her beliefs, saying, “Isn’t it a position where I can’t talk about politics? What position can talk about politics...? As a citizen, I’ll handle it myself, and I’ll mention it myself. I’m speaking out because I’m a celebrity. I really appreciate your concern. Let’s live in a better world. Let’s love freely in that world.”

In response, Jeong Yu-ra, daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly known as Choi Soon-sil), criticized, “Whether the National Assembly budget is in shambles or the impeachment motion has been raised 22 times causing a paralysis of state affairs, I don’t know if your petty sense of superiority and the concept of gender are more important than the country’s situation, or if you’re just really lacking in intelligence. When the country is rotting, you’re busy with indifference and your own affairs, and suddenly adding your voice at this time is the problem.”

She also stated, “Getting fixated on the word martial law and frothing at the mouth about communism isn’t communism. It’s just that when the situation turns unfavorable, I’m just a singer or an actor, and seeing that happen over and over again is just too much. Speaking out because I’m a celebrity? Celebrities don’t even look into things and get swept up in every incitement, influencing others’ opinions directly or indirectly, and then they don’t take responsibility.”

As Lee Chae-yeon stood firm and confirmed her attendance at the rally despite public criticism and condemnation, netizens reacted with comments like, “It must have been tough with all the hate comments,” “That’s cool,” “It’s great to express your beliefs,” and “The fans joined too.”
