Star lyricist and broadcaster Kim Ina has directly apologized for using terms associated with the far-right site Ilbe (Ilgan Best). However, it seems that the damage to her accumulated image is unavoidable.
Recently, it was revealed in online communities that Kim Ina had used the misogynistic term 'Sam-il-han' (meaning women should be hit once every three days) and derogatory terms for former President Moon Jae-in, such as 'Leftist Face' and 'Hot Pot', which are known to be used on Ilbe.
One netizen commented on Kim Ina's personal account, asking, "What do you think about martial law? Do you support impeachment?"
On the 7th, Kim Ina clarified, "I have never been on Ilbe, and I still do not know if the source is Ilbe," adding, "I am one of the citizens who have been angry since the moment martial law was declared."
However, despite Kim Ina's explanation, the controversy did not subside. There were expectations that she would address the issue during her ongoing MBC FM4U show 'Kim Ina's Starry Night', but there was no mention of it. Debates about her political stance ensued, along with calls for her to step down from the radio show.
Ultimately, during the live broadcast of 'Kim Ina's Starry Night' on the 9th, Kim Ina said, "It has been tough over the weekend and today, and I think the listeners (Owls) have had it even harder. That controversy is certainly not me."
Nevertheless, she apologized, saying, "But the more I think about it, I used inappropriate words and caused great concern, so I am very sorry about that."
She emphasized, "I will ensure that such an incident does not happen again under any circumstances," and expressed her feelings, saying, "I wanted to make sure to say this."
