Bae Jung-nam has confirmed his appearance in 'Spring Fever'.
The new tvN drama 'Spring Fever' (directed by Park Won-guk / written by Kim Ah-jung / planned by CJ ENM STUDIOS / produced by Bon Factory) is a hot pink comic romance between the mysterious teacher Yoon Bom (played by Lee Joo-bin), who has closed her heart and moved to a rural school, and the unpredictable man Sun Jae-kyu (played by Ahn Bo-hyun), who rushes in with abandon.
Previously, with the casting of Ahn Bo-hyun and Lee Joo-bin, director Park Won-guk, who has been recognized for his trendy directing through tvN's 'Marry My Husband' and MBC's 'Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se-poong', and writer Kim Ah-jung, who showcased the essence of romantic comedy with SBS's 'Love at First Sight', have teamed up to raise expectations.
In 'Spring Fever', Bae Jung-nam will play the role of Jung Jin-hyuk, a physical education teacher at Shinsoo High School. In his youth, Jung Jin-hyuk was known as the 'Shinsoo Town Idol', dominating Shinsoo-eup with his looks, but now he has entered middle age without being able to marry due to taking care of his sick mother. Although he lives a life boasting of his past looks, he is a romanticist who still dreams of love. His daily life is simple, but he has a passionate inner self. While he may appear to be a boastful PE teacher to those around him, he harbors delicate emotions and begins to change in the face of unexpected circumstances that awaken long-lost excitement.
Bae Jung-nam is expected to bring realism to the character of Jung Jin-hyuk with his unique, relatable acting and human charm. He will alternate between humor, playfulness, and heartfelt emotional performances, raising anticipation for the synergy he will showcase in the romantic comedy genre.
The production team of 'Spring Fever' stated, "We only thought of Bae Jung-nam for the role of Jung Jin-hyuk. The casting was unanimously decided, so he will bring high synchronization and vitality to 'Spring Fever'."
Bae Jung-nam, who debuted as a model, is still regarded as a fashion icon and style role model for men in their 30s and 40s, having made a mark in dramas like 'Mr. Sunshine' and films such as 'Hero', 'Okay Madam', 'Master', and 'The Sheriff'. Additionally, he has gained love from viewers by deeply communicating with them through his unpretentious humanity in variety shows.
Meanwhile, the new tvN drama 'Spring Fever', in which Bae Jung-nam has confirmed his appearance, is set to meet viewers in the first half of 2026 with a total of 12 episodes.
