Eunho, a member of the group Younite, was sexually assaulted after a performance in Brazil.
Younite performed at the '18th Korean Culture Day' event in São Paulo, Brazil, on the 17th (local time). It is reported that after the performance, a woman rushed towards member Eunho in the crowd and attempted to kiss him.
The incident was captured by people present at the scene, and the video subsequently spread on social media. Those who saw it expressed outrage, stating that the woman's actions were clearly sexual assault and a crime. There are also criticisms regarding the need to ensure a safe distance between artists and fans.
As the controversy grew, the organizers stated, “We deeply regret that an incident of sexual assault occurred during the event, where a fan attempted to forcibly kiss the artist. Sexual assault in any form is unacceptable. We will do our best to ensure that artists, fans, and event staff can maintain a culture of respect, ethics, and healthy interactions.”
Eunho, who was a victim of sexual assault, later reassured fans through a communication platform, saying, “I was surprised but managed to avoid it with quick reflexes. I’m okay.”
