Actress Lee Young-ae revealed that she has received countless offers to judge cooking competitions but has turned them all down.
On the 31st, JTBC's 'Please Take Care of My Refrigerator' will feature a fierce 15-minute cooking competition among chefs using the diverse ingredients found in the refrigerator of the nation's beloved actress 'Jang Geum', Lee Young-ae.
What stands out the most is that Lee Young-ae is participating in a cooking judging role for the first time in her life. She shared, "Perhaps because of my role as 'Jang Geum', I have received many offers to judge cooking shows," and added, "I have always politely declined, but this challenge is a unique experience, and I am nervous," expressing her honest feelings about judging.
In the first competition of the day, chefs Son Jong-won and Park Eun-young will face off with the theme of 'healthy restorative food', drawing attention.
First, Korean chef Son Jong-won expressed his excitement, saying, "As someone who cooks Korean food, I really wanted to cook for you at least once."
In response, 'Chinese food goddess' Park Eun-young declared, "When it comes to restorative food, it has to be Chinese," and expressed her determination to present a dish that will energize.
However, she faces challenges. After feeling regret over a lack of time in the previous competition, she chooses a high-difficulty dish that is difficult to complete in 15 minutes, causing the chefs to become anxious.
In another competition, chefs Sam Kim and Jung Ho-young will compete with the theme of 'naturalistic cooking'.
Sam Kim, a representative of 'naturalistic chefs', shared, "I started with a 10-pyeong garden and expanded it to 70 pyeong," showing strong confidence while forming a connection with Lee Young-ae.
On the other hand, Jung Ho-young, who is on a winning streak with his intuitive flavors, stated, "This time, I will achieve my fifth consecutive win and rise to second place," and even revealed a special connection with Lee Young-ae, bringing laughter to the studio.
