Actress Kim Hye-eun has once again apologized regarding the controversy surrounding her comments targeting Yoo Si-min.

On the afternoon of the 12th, a press screening and conference for the movie 'City of Evil' was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Yongsan, Seoul.

On this day, Kim Hye-eun stated, "I generally have a big heart for women and the weak. It seems to have grown larger than I thought. As someone who is active as an actress, I want to express my apologies."

She continued, "Since he has become the president elected by the entire nation, I believe our country must do really well. Especially, the film industry is struggling, and at a time when K-content is gaining prominence, I sincerely hope that we can elevate our status as a cultural powerhouse in the cultural sector."

Previously, Kim Hye-eun criticized Yoo Si-min's comments made on May 28 during a YouTube channel 'Kim Eo-jun's Dasbeoida', where he stated, "The position of being the spouse of a presidential candidate from a major party (Kim Moon-soo) is a position that Seol Nan-young can hardly reach in her life."

At that time, Yoo commented, "This person is now floating in the air. In other words, it means they are not in their right mind," and claimed, "Mr. Kim Moon-soo is such an extraordinary person that it doesn't match the balance with Seol Nan-young. Through marrying such a man, she might feel elevated. After living a rough life, she became a member of the National Assembly's spouse. She will look up to her husband even more."

Following the controversy, Yoo apologized, saying, "It was my fault that the expression was rough," and explained that the phrase "not in their right mind" meant "not being able to make purposeful and rational judgments."

Afterward, Kim Hye-eun stated, "I don't think I've ever been ashamed of my education from Seoul National University like yesterday and today," and added, "I want to convey my apologies on behalf of myself. I am not a rotten intellectual who looks down on high school graduates just because I graduated from Seoul National University." This post spread online, causing controversy, and after deleting the post and blocking comments, Kim Hye-eun posted a handwritten apology on her SNS on the 4th, expressing her regret.
