ENHYPEN's Jay shared his thoughts on presenting his self-composed song 'Helium' in front of people.
On the afternoon of the 7th, an exclusive media presentation was held at the underground bunker of the Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) in Yeouido, Seoul, to celebrate the release of ENHYPEN's mini album 'DESIRE: UNLEASH'. The members of ENHYPEN, Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunwoo, and Niki, attended the event.
In this mini album 'DESIRE: UNLEASH', Jay introduced his first self-composed song 'Helium', stating, "'Helium' is a song that compares the air I breathe when I fall in love with you to 'helium gas'. I wanted to express the overwhelming feeling I have when performing on stage with the members, and I pondered how to convey that. It's a song that reflects those thoughts freely."
When asked where he drew inspiration for the song, he explained, "I came up with the title later while working on it. Rather than starting with a theme, I thought about the emotional line first. We have written such songs at every concert, and I wanted to convey that overwhelming feeling to the fans as well."
ENHYPEN made a comeback after 7 months since 'ROMANCE: UNTOLD –daydream-' and approached their fans. Regarding the feeling of presenting an album after a long time, Sunghoon said, "While preparing for the comeback, I remembered that it coincided with Coachella. After finishing this album, we went into practice for Coachella, so it felt like we practiced for a long time. I feel like I can show it with more confidence as I have become more accustomed to it."
Jungwon expressed, "I was confident because it was an album we worked hard on, and the better it is, the more I wanted to spoil it. I felt very eager during live broadcasts or when meeting fans," but then he laughed and added, "In fact, there were many times I couldn't hide it."
Regarding the goals ENHYPEN wants to achieve in the future, Heeseung said, "There are still many things that ENHYPEN has not tried. There are many aspects we want to express in various genres on stage that we haven't shown yet, so I don't know if a new album will come out this year, but I think having time to try new things will become our goal," and confessed, "If given the opportunity, I would like to challenge the Latin genre as well."
The immersive pop-up space 'Maison ENHYPEN', newly presented near Yeouido, is designed to sensibly embody the core themes of desire, romance, and change from ENHYPEN's mini album, allowing visitors to experience ENHYPEN's unique worldview firsthand. This event will run until the 16th.
