Broadcaster Lee Ji-hye shared her 'tearful parenting diary' as she experienced her daughter's school refusal and grew together with her.
On the 28th, in a video released on the YouTube channel 'Not Annoying Attention-Seeking Sister', Lee Ji-hye spent an emotional day supporting her daughter Taeri on her first day of elementary school.
"It's okay if you can't do it perfectly. Don't cry, let's go," she comforted her daughter, but the nervous child eventually showed tears, and Lee Ji-hye was also immersed in complex emotions.
On that day, Taeri complained of a stomachache and was so nervous that she needed to take medicine for constipation. Lee Ji-hye recalled, "When she was in kindergarten, it was hard for her to adjust, and my husband once took her to the Han River," revealing that it took a long time for her to prepare her heart this time as well.
However, change came slowly but surely. A few days later, Taeri began to gather herself, saying, "I didn't say I wouldn't go today," and the decisive turning point was the day she went to school smiling for the first time.
"She covered her eyes at the school gate, afraid she would cry, but today she went in smiling. It must have been hard for her, but it was also hard for me. I feel like I'm growing up as a mom too," her words reflected both the exhaustion and joy of parenting.
Meanwhile, Taeri is reported to have entered a private elementary school in Seocho-gu, Seoul, with an annual tuition fee of around 12 million won, and Lee Ji-hye married tax accountant Moon Jae-wan in 2017 and has two daughters.
