Global boy group GOT7 has hinted at an upgraded music spectrum as a complete group.
On the 15th, Kakao Entertainment released a highlight medley featuring snippets of new songs from their upcoming mini-album 'WINTER HEPTAGON' through GOT7's official SNS. This not only revealed parts of the title track and all the included songs but also showcased a behind-the-scenes video capturing the seven unique charms of GOT7, garnering a warm response from global fans.
This album includes a total of 9 songs, including the title track 'PYTHON', 'SMOOTH', 'Youth Drama', 'I Will Remember', 'Darling', 'TIDAL WAVE', 'OUT THE DOOR', 'her', and 'What We Can Say'. All songs were written, composed, and produced by the members themselves.
Among these, 'PYTHON' and 'TIDAL WAVE' were worked on by BamBam, 'SMOOTH' by Jackson, 'Youth Drama' by Youngjae (Ars), 'I Will Remember' by Yugyeom, 'Darling' by JAY B (JB, Def.), 'OUT THE DOOR' by Mark Tuan, and 'her' by JinYoung, each capturing their individuality while deeply reflecting GOT7's identity. Additionally, the final track 'What We Can Say' is composed by JAY B, with all members participating in the lyrics, conveying their love and gratitude towards fans as a fan song.
First, 'PYTHON' captivates the ears with its pop melody over a hip-hop beat. The song unfolds a fateful love story with the lyrics, "I know I’m an icon / Watch me with the lights on / But she got a hold on me like a python," heightening curiosity about the full track.
Following that, the soulful 'SMOOTH', the performance-anticipating 'Youth Drama' and 'I Will Remember', the R&B standout 'Darling', and the dance rhythm impressive 'TIDAL WAVE' and 'OUT THE DOOR', along with the ballad track 'her', harmoniously incorporate each member's style. In the final track 'What We Can Say', GOT7 sings heartfelt lyrics directed at fans: "To my special little bird / I hope my grateful heart reaches you / I will definitely come back."
'WINTER HEPTAGON' is an album where fans can experience GOT7's deep musicality and love for their fans, celebrating their 11th debut anniversary. Despite being a mini-album, it is packed with 9 songs, providing fans with a richer gift.
GOT7's new mini-album 'WINTER HEPTAGON' will be released on the 20th at 6 PM through all online music sites both domestically and internationally. Following that, GOT7 will hold a solo concert [NESTFEST] at the Handball Stadium in Olympic Park, Seoul, on February 1 and 2, continuing their activities as a complete group. Expectations are high as fans look forward to experiencing the new songs both in audio and on stage. Ticket sales will be exclusively conducted on the online reservation site Melon Ticket starting at 8 PM on the 17th.
