Former gymnast Son Yeon-jae announced that she hosts a rhythmic gymnastics competition every year.
On the 17th, KBS2's 'New Product Launch Pyeon Restaurant' depicted Son Yeon-jae's daily life.
On that day, Son Yeon-jae revealed her rhythmic gymnastics studio. She explained, "Rhythmic gymnastics has been an unpopular sport. There weren't many places to learn, and accessibility was low. I started this because I wanted to popularize it and hope many people can learn it easily."
Son Yeon-jae mentioned that she is pursuing a coaching career after retirement, saying, "I started rhythmic gymnastics when I was 5 years old, had a 17-year career as an athlete, and then retired. Now, I am teaching athletes."
She continued, "For young friends, competition experience is important, but there aren't many competitions in the country. I thought, 'Wouldn't it be good for aspiring athletes to gain experience early?' so I host a rhythmic gymnastics competition every year."
She added, "It was a bit difficult at first, but as I continued, many people started to come. There are about 300 participants in the competition. My goal is for it to become an international event."
Meanwhile, 'New Product Launch Pyeon Restaurant' airs every Friday at 8:30 PM.
