Participants of the Seoul Music Festival passionately sang their favorite songs at the after-party.
The episode of MBC's entertainment program ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Jang Woo-sung, Jang Hyo-jong, Wang Jong-seok, written by Choi Hye-jung) aired on the afternoon of the 11th, featuring the after-party of the Seoul Music Festival in the ‘Chuseok Grand Feast’ segment.
On this day, all participants gathered in hanbok. Lalal mentioned, “It was chaotic with people getting up and dancing in the audience,” in response to Yoo Jae-suk's comment. “What surprised me was that I was upset because the harmonies were off, so I kept practicing. We thought our limit was here, but when we got on stage, my brother hit all the harmonies. It was the best we ever did on stage,” she said.
Dean Dean, who was listening, revealed, “They had a separate dinner after the festival.” Lee Yong-jin added, “After the recording of the festival, I felt lonely going home. So I contacted him, and he said he felt lonely too. So we drank until late,” surprising the other participants.
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Both of you have families, why did you feel lonely?” Lalal explained, “Let me explain! That day felt like a dream come true on stage. I just couldn’t go home. I told my husband, ‘I can’t go home like this. Let’s leave the baby with my mother-in-law.’ I was about to have a beer with my husband in front of the house when I got a call. My brother was with his wife and said, ‘Are you going home? I can’t go home,’” she clarified. Lee Yong-jin laughed, saying, “With their spouses! Together! I’ve never seen someone drink like they don’t have kids at home.”
Later, Yoo Jae-suk congratulated Lee Jeok on his award, saying, “Lee Jeok also seemed to get excited while singing?” Lee Jeok replied, “I think I lost my mind out there,” stating he took the stage sincerely. Lee Jun-young also said, “It was exciting to play with a band sound after a long time.”
Lee Yong-jin raised suspicions, saying, “I caught him once. I think it was a moment when the crew was taking pictures after winning the grand prize. I was about to open the waiting room door when I heard someone outside saying, ‘Ravalala Mulbi~!’ I’m not wrong, right?” suggesting that Lee Jun-young might not be as introverted as he seems.
With a red face, Lee Jun-young replied, “It was just ‘Aaaah’ among friends... We’re usually quiet. We suddenly got hyped that day and started speaking in some weird alien language,” he said. Yoo Jae-suk admired, “Yong-jin would do well as a spy. He gets caught every time.”
Park Young-kyu stated, “I’ve never felt nervous before,” revealing he was quite nervous on stage. He then confessed, “The moment I saw Kim Hee-ae, I got nervous, and this is hard for me to say... I really loved Kim Hee-ae,” surprising everyone. The expressions of all participants stiffened, and the members asked, “Did you have a crush?” and “Did you confess?” showing interest.
Flustered, Park Young-kyu replied vaguely, “It didn’t happen.” When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Are you talking about love in the drama?” Park Young-kyu clarified, “It didn’t happen in the drama.”

Afterward, the participants were divided into blue and white teams for a singing competition with prizes at stake. The blue team consisted of Joo Woo-jae, Lee Yong-jin, Park Myung-soo, Choi Yu-ri, Liz, and Lee Jun-young, while the white team included Lee Yi-kyung, Lee Jeok, Choi Jung-hoon, Lalal, Dean Dean, Solar, and Park Young-kyu.
When Dean Dean sang ‘Didi Di’, Lee Yong-jin responded with ‘As Time Goes By’, leading to a victory for the white team with Dean Dean. The second round was a duet competition. The white team prepared ‘I Love You’ by Lalal and Solar, while the blue team prepared ‘You in My Memories’ by Lee Jun-young and Joo Woo-jae.
The precise harmonies of Lalal and Solar surprised the participants, who exclaimed, “What is this?” especially laughing at Lalal’s shocking performance. Lee Jun-young and Joo Woo-jae, feeling the pressure, said, “We will deliver it simply through music,” and claimed they had nothing prepared.
However, contrary to their words, Lee Jun-young’s feet started moving slowly, and Joo Woo-jae began to sing. The two showcased a performance where one sang while the other danced, causing laughter among the audience. The result of the second round was a victory for the white team with Solar and Lalal.
The third round was Liz vs. Lee Jeok. Liz chose ‘My Old Story’, while Lee Jeok selected ‘Train to the World’. Both showcased songs they had been contemplating for the festival. The winner of the third round was Liz.
With the white team leading 100 points to 50 points, Yoo Jae-suk suddenly summoned Park Young-kyu, saying there was a special guest. Park Young-kyu passionately sang his representative song ‘Chameleon’, further heating up the atmosphere.
The fourth round was a battle between Park Myung-soo & Choi Yu-ri vs. Lee Yi-kyung & Choi Jung-hoon. Park Myung-soo and Choi Yu-ri prepared Lee Moon-sae’s ‘Flying Through the Deep Night’. Yoo Jae-suk expressed excitement, saying, “Finally, this combination happens.” As Choi Yu-ri’s gentle voice started, Park Myung-soo’s unique clear tone decorated the stage, and the participants couldn’t contain their excitement and danced together.
Choi Jung-hoon and Lee Yi-kyung presented the stage for ‘The First Snow is Coming’. During the lively music in the middle, all participants stood up to dance, but when the song quieted down again, they sat down to enjoy it.
In the fourth round, Park Myung-soo and Choi Yu-ri scored points, resulting in a tie.
Yoo Jae-suk stated that both teams had MVP candidates and asked the teams to select MVPs. Lalal and Solar were chosen from the white team, while Park Myung-soo and Choi Yu-ri were selected from the blue team. According to the voting results from Yoo Jae-suk and Haha, the MVP was awarded to Lalal and Solar. The two received an LP player as a prize.
MBC’s ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’ airs every Saturday at 6:30 PM.
