Can Song Joong-ki and Cheon Woo-hee's blooming romance in ‘My Youth’ fully blossom?
In the 11th episode of JTBC's Friday series ‘My Youth’ (written by Park Si-hyun, directed by Lee Sang-yeob and Ko Hye-jin) aired on the 10th, Sun Woo-hae (played by Song Joong-ki) fell into a coma. Sun Woo-hae and Seong Je-yeon (played by Cheon Woo-hee) promised to overcome the rapidly progressing illness together. The ending, where Seong Je-yeon weeps in the face of an unexpected crisis, heightened curiosity about the conclusion.
Seong Je-yeon asked Sun Woo-hae what his wish was. Sun Woo-hae recalled a school trip he had never been able to go on. To grant Sun Woo-hae's wish, Seong Je-yeon took him on a private school trip. Not wanting to show his suffering to Seong Je-yeon, he hid in the bathroom to suffer alone. Knowing Sun Woo-hae's heart better than anyone, Seong Je-yeon quietly stayed by his side. Lying next to Sun Woo-hae, who told her not to come close, Seong Je-yeon comforted him by saying, “Will we smile again tomorrow? Like a new episode, like a sitcom,” which was touching.
Seong Je-yeon learned that Sun Woo-hae had been offered to participate in an overseas clinical trial. When Seong Je-yeon said they would overcome it together, Sun Woo-hae promised he wouldn’t make her anxious, but feeling the speed of the illness's progression, he suddenly became scared. Sun Woo-hae calmly confessed to Lee Geon-no (played by Yoon Byung-hee) that he just wanted to live like everyone else. Lee Geon-no comforted him by tying his shoelaces, saying, “You can just tie them again and keep going.”
However, a crisis soon struck Sun Woo-hae. He fell into a coma just before a date with Seong Je-yeon. Just days before, Sun Woo-hae and Seong Je-yeon had spent happy times together. In the face of an unexpected crisis, Seong Je-yeon wept. The ending, where she wept while recalling Sun Woo-hae's warm smile, left viewers feeling heavy-hearted. Attention is focused on whether Sun Woo-hae and Seong Je-yeon can complete their love.
