Former gymnast Son Yeon-jae expressed her struggles with parenting.
On the 10th, KBS2’s ‘New Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ depicted Son Yeon-jae’s daily life.
On this day, Son Yeon-jae introduced herself as “a rookie mom entering her second year of parenting, which is the hardest” and made everyone laugh.
She continued, “Thinking ‘my mom must have raised me like this’ makes me feel grateful. I think it’s a thankful and fun experience to be able to watch my child grow up.”
Son Yeon-jae caught attention by preparing meal prep for her son. She explained, “My child is transitioning from 17 months to 18 months and eats about 3-4 meals a day, including snacks. I’m trying to balance carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, so it seems like the variety is increasing.”
To ensure her son has a balanced diet, Son Yeon-jae writes a baby food diary and a baby food calendar, surprising everyone. Hyojeong remarked, “It looks like a national team training schedule.”
Regarding her dedication to her son’s food, Son Yeon-jae said, “Since I did rhythmic gymnastics, I had to eat less and have a restricted diet from a young age. There are many ingredients I haven’t tried until retirement, and I lack experience with food, which might be why I have picky eating habits.”
She added, “I’ve heard that ‘children resemble their parents’ eating habits,’ so I think, ‘If he resembles me, it’ll be a big problem,’ and I’m trying hard to cook delicious food to give him the joy of eating tasty meals.”
Son Yeon-jae made crispy bulgogi for her son. However, her son rejected the crispy bulgogi, causing disappointment.
When Boom asked, “Which is harder, exercising or parenting?” Son Yeon-jae firmly replied, “Definitely parenting.” She added, “As an athlete, even if training is tough, I can eat well, sleep well, and manage my condition. But with parenting, I can’t manage my condition, and it’s endless.”
