Broadcaster Shim Hyun-seop expressed disappointment after suspecting his wife Jeong Yeong-rim's health issues might indicate a pregnancy, but it turned out to be unsuccessful.
On the 18th, during the broadcast of TV Chosun's entertainment program "Lovers of Joseon," Shim Hyun-seop revealed his hopes for a second child.
On that day, Shim Hyun-seop mentioned, "My wife is unwell," revealing that Jeong Yeong-rim was complaining of back pain. He added, "She said it has improved a bit, but it's still painful," expressing his concern.
While out shopping for groceries, Shim Hyun-seop met with citizens. A mother fan asked, "Are you pregnant?" and mentioned, "Some people experience back pain when they are pregnant." Excited by this, Shim Hyun-seop immediately rushed to a pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test.
On his way home, Shim Hyun-seop showed signs of excitement even in front of the elevator. He said, "I used to name the baby-to-be 'Sim Bamba.' It could become a reality."
He continued, "Bamba... whether you are a daughter or a son, I am really grateful. You will strengthen the bond of love between your mom and dad, and just be born... I will do my best to raise you, even though I am an old dad," already expressing affection for the second child.
Receiving the pregnancy test, Jeong Yeong-rim denied, "No. What are you talking about? No way." However, at Shim Hyun-seop's urging, she took the test in the bathroom. The result was one line (not pregnant).
In response, Shim Hyun-seop insisted, "They say even a faint second line indicates a high possibility," but Jeong Yeong-rim countered, "Do you want to deny it?" and added, "It's not faint," drawing laughter.
